Due to our continued growth, we are now recruiting for a Senior Infotainment Project Engineer specializing in automotive interior switches to be based at our clients site in Woking.
Our Engineering Research and Development department (ER&D) is a fast-growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on exciting projects globally for multiple customers. It comprises highly specialized engineers across Automotive, Aerospace and Industrial Heavy Machinery.

Role summary:
The Senior Infotainment Project Engineer is responsible for development, test and delivery of state-of-the-art infotainment and multimedia features.
The role requires a highly motivated and hands-on team player who specialises in interior switches and has an exceptional attention to detail. The role will suit an Engineer who has the ability to quickly develop skills in new areas and liaise with other engineers within a multidisciplinary team.

Dimension of Function:
Engineering, Research and Development (ER&D) is a growing function within Tata Technologies Limited that is assembled to work on projects and programmes for our clients. This position will be working on Infotainment features within the cockpit electronics projects for our customers.

Areas of Responsibility:
The Cockpit Electronics team is responsible for the specification, test and delivery of infotainment systems, displays, audio systems and interior switches. The responsibilities of the Senior Infotainment Engineer will include the following:
Write detailed software requirements and specifications
Lead integration of infotainment system features (Specialty in Radio) with the overall vehicle architecture
Manage the development of multiple hardware and software suppliers to deliver infotainment features on time, on cost, and within quality and functional specifications
Report on current activities, software status and issues at a business level
Develop and co-ordinate DVP plans for all areas associated with cockpit electronics software and hardware.
Ensure and sign-off launch readiness of features for production
Test road cars with the latest features and content before release
Assist with fault finding and root cause analysis of software and hardware failures.
Report bugs and create test reports
Drive issue resolution with hardware and software suppliers
Take responsibility for resolving infotainment issues on current production vehicles.

Knowledge / Experience:
Experience in a systems engineering, or electronics role; ideally in automotive industry.
Experience of the Systems Development Lifecycle (V Model); writing system requirements, defining test cases and writing test procedures.
Ability to produce formal documentation to a professional standard:
• Specifications
• FMEA
• DVP
Organised, systematic and understands the process of fault finding.
Ability to effectively manage time between multiple projects.
Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet and corresponding tools.
Knowledge of vehicle diagnostics.

Desirable
Hardware:
Good understanding of HW required to support in car infotainment and radio reception
Good understanding of supplier management
Good working knowledge of PSW process

Radio:
Good understanding of worldwide radio standards
Good understanding of how vehicle environment affects reception performance
Ability to interface and communicate effectively with other teams inside ES&C

Series support:
Appreciation of automotive manufacturing
Understanding of electrical architectures and software release processes
Comfortable in dealing with line operatives, engineers and management in production
