AWS Cloud Engineer with API Development Focus

This role requires a combination of technical expertise in cloud infrastructure, API design, and software development, along with business acumen to deliver scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud solutions.

The Role:

AWS Infrastructure and Management:
Design and implement secure AWS cloud architectures that meet business requirements Deploy and manage applications using AWS services such as EC2, EBS, S3, and Elastic Beanstalk Create and maintain infrastructure as code using tools like Cloud Formation and Terraform Implement and manage containerized applications using EKS (Kubernetes) and Docker Monitor system health, performance, and security using Cloud Watch and other AWS tools Optimize AWS resource usage and implement cost-control strategies Troubleshoot and resolve issues in the AWS environment Implement disaster recovery and backup procedures 2.

API Development and Integration:
Design, develop, and maintain RESTful and Graph QL APIs using AWS services such as API Gateway and App Sync Implement serverless architectures for API backends using AWS Lambda Develop and integrate microservices using AWS ECS or EKS Implement API security measures, including authentication and authorization using AWS Cognito or IAM Design and implement API caching strategies using Amazon Elasti Cache or Cloud Front Create and maintain API documentation using tools like Swagger or Open API Develop and execute API testing strategies, including unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests Implement API versioning and manage API lifecycle Monitor API performance and implement optimizations 3.

Collaboration and Continuous Improvement:
Collaborate with development teams to integrate AWS services into applications Work with front-end and mobile developers to ensure smooth API integration Stay updated on new AWS services and features, recommending improvements to existing systems Translate business requirements into technical API specifications.

Qualifications:

AWS Expertise:
3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, preferably with AWS Strong knowledge of AWS services and best practices AWS certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer) 2.

Development and Programming:
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Java, Go, Node.js, C#) Strong experience in developing RESTful and Graph QL APIs Proficiency in serverless computing, particularly AWS Lambda 3.

Infrastructure and Dev Ops:
Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools Understanding of networking concepts and security best practices Familiarity with Dev Ops practices and CI/CD pipelines Experience with API management tools and gateways 4.

Database and Analytics:
Knowledge of database management and data analytics 5.

API Design and Management:
Knowledge of API security best practices and implementation Familiarity with microservices architecture and containerization Experience with API documentation tools and standards Understanding of API design principles and best practices Proficiency in API testing methodologies and tools General:
