Bloom Recruitment is in search of an intermediate-senior level Legal Assistant with strong experience supporting a corporate and securities law practice. Our client, named one of Canada's best law firms by the Globe and Mail, is a full-service law firm of more than 300 lawyers and nearly 500 additional team members across the four western provinces.

SUMMARY:

This position provides administrative and clerical support as part of a team of corporate commercial and securities lawyers, paralegals, and legal assistants in the Vancouver office. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, highly organized, has superior writing, proofreading and time management skills. They have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, are able to work independently following instructions with minimal supervision, and thrive in a fast-paced, professional team environment. This is a full-time, on-site, position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide comprehensive administrative support to lawyers specializing in corporate and securities law.
Prepare, proofread, and format legal documents, correspondence, and filings with securities regulators.
Assist with SEDAR, SEDI, and NRD filings, including preparing forms and ensuring timely submissions.
Coordinate and manage the closing process for corporate transactions, including assembling closing books.
Organize and maintain legal files and ensure accurate documentation and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Schedule meetings, maintain calendars, and manage correspondence for lawyers.
Conduct legal research and assist in preparing reports as needed.
Communicate professionally with clients, regulators, and other stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Diploma or certificate in Legal Administration, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a focus on corporate and securities law.
Proficiency in SEDAR, SEDI, and NRD filings.
Strong understanding of corporate procedures and securities regulations.
Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal software applications.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple deadlines.
Professionalism and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
