independent events
Intuitively, two events A and B are independent if the occurrence of one has no effect on the probability of the occurrence of the other. For example, if you throw two dice, the probability that the second one comes up 1 is independent of whether the first die came up 1. Formally, this can be stated in terms of conditional probabilities : B A A and A B B .
