SkillBridge Aircraft Maintenance Technician Military Fellowship

MUST BE ACTIVE-DUTY U.S. MILITARY TO QUALIFY

Global Medical Response (GMR) is proud to be an authorized provider of the DOD SkillBridge program, offering U.S. Military Service Members the opportunity to gain valuable civilian work experience in the medical response industry through training, internships and on-the-job (OJT) experience.

Under the SkillBridge program, GMR hosts active-duty U.S. Military members for skilled employment training during the final six months of their active-duty obligated service. The SkillBridge Program with GMR will run for 90-days. During the SkillBridge program, a military service member will retain thier military pay and benefits and will not be compensated by GMR.

SkillBridge program start dates are timed in accordance with company indoc schedules and Service Member availability.

SkillBridge Program Minimum Required Qualifications (general):

Current Active-Duty Service Member
Meets DoD SkillBridge Qualifications
Available to participate for 90-days
Obtain signed approval from your unit commander (04 or above) and agree that participation in SkillBridge can be terminated at any time by the Service if mission requirements dictate
During SkillBridge Program

24-hour base housing provided at select locations (for Field Mechanics)
If Hired after Completion of SkillBridge Program

Although successful completion of a Skillbridge program is a not a guarantee of future employment with any GMR company, a newly hired GMR/Med-Trans Aircraft Maintenance Technician can expect the following:

Starting base salary of $62,705 to $91,455 depending on experience, including 10% to 40% geographic modifier for assigned base, depending on location
$10,000 sign-on bonus
24-hour base housing provided at select locations
10/10 schedule available
Job Summary

Our

A&P

Base Mechanics - Rotor Wing

supports the

daily

maintenance of the

Bell 407 series aircraft

at their base. They also perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, repairs, and modifications to airframes, rotors, and appliances. Our Maintenance team maintains our helicopters to the

highest standards possible .

Responsibilities:

Aircraft Maintenance Technician will perform maintenance services including mechanical inspections, screening, repairs and provide regular statuses to the Lead Technician.
Manage inventory checks to ensure stock of supplies and equipment, regularly update the equipment tracking log, place replacement requests when necessary and document part expenditures.
Clearly document service paperwork and FAA information as required and adhere to policies and procedures while complying with the company's information security standards.
Take pride in sustaining a safe and clean working environment for the aircraft maintenance team and flight crew.
Use appropriate communication methods to help facilitate coordination of efforts between departments, vendors and team members.
Work collaboratively and in a professional manner with all allied health and public safety personnel as well as your fellow AMTs and operations team.
Minimum Required

Qualifications:

FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate
Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations
3 years of turbine helicopter maintenance experience with a minimum of six months helicopter maintenace exoerience during the last 24 months
Aircraft maintenance systems, records and maintenance support and planning
Manufacturer training or equivalent on

Bell 407

preferred

Maintenance experience preferred
Related experience under CFR Parts 91, 135 and 145 preferred
HAA knowledge preferred
Avionics troubleshooting and electrical repair experience preferred
Additional FAA/FCC ratings preferred
Inspection Authorization Certification preferred
IFR helicopter avionics and auto-pilot experience preferred
Prior civilian HEMS experience preferred
Physical Requirements:

Must be able to safely perform work on scaffolding or ladders.
Must be able to stand, lie, and kneel in awkward positions and spaces for varying time durations.
Must be able to lift, push, and pull objects weighing ranging from 10-50 pounds at a time.
Must be able to lift and/or move up to 150 pounds cumulative with assistance.
Manual dexterity and physical strength necessary to operate tools, make adjustments and repairs, including use of hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
Exposed to loud noise levels, vibrations, test sounds and identify functioning level of aircraft and may require the use of headphones if needed.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Inspection and repair of aircraft requires good visual acuity and eye-hand coordination.

See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
Must be acceptable in accordance with the FAA drug and alcohol testing program.
Frequent hands to key ability to input data and information.
Coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously.
