What you will do:

You will operate under general direction to serve as the on-site project leader responsible for the planning, execution, and completion of control systems projects for assigned customers. You will perform or delegate necessary tasks to ensure projects are thoroughly completed, including hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, commissioning, and project closeout. You will guide subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative staff as needed. It is essential to balance customer satisfaction with superior project financial outcomes. You will maintain active communication with customers throughout all project phases, actively pursue additional work through change orders, and ensure compliance with all legal requirements and ethical standards.

How you will do it:
Designing installation hardware and programming software according to established standards as required. Validating system functionality and resolving issues in coordination with subcontractors. Providing accurate as built and commissioning documentation.
Assessing the contractual scope of work and the effects of client-issued directives or scheduling changes, while effectively communicating technical and business issues with clients.
Leading the loading, verification, and commissioning of all system controllers, as necessary.
Coordinating job site arrangements for panel and field device locations, ensuring compliance with Johnson Controls literature and project specifications.
Providing updates on project status to management and forecasting revenue, costs, and gross margins monthly.
Developing project plans and coordinating needed resources for accurate and cost-effective project realization.
Delivering site-specific training on system operation to owner/operators and providing the necessary documentation and manuals.
Issuing warranty letters upon substantial project completion and ensuring warranty execution.
Communicating design and operational details to customers, Johnson Controls staff, and subcontractors clearly.
Offering coaching and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers, and Subcontractors.
Ensuring that assigned tasks are completed accurately, on schedule, and within the project's budget and scope.
Building and maintaining long-term relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
Participating in job progress meetings as needed.
Ensuring adherence to safety standards among Johnson Controls staff and subcontractors.
Managing materials procurement, including selection, ordering, budgeting, and delivery scheduling for assigned projects.
Obtaining pricing and availability from vendors and adjusting scope and terms where necessary.
Overseeing project costs, billings, and collections, ensuring accuracy and timely completion while meeting profitability goals.
Handling subcontractor payment and billing processes efficiently.

What we look for:

Required:

Technical Associates Degree and a minimum of four years' field experience, or six years of equivalent experience in the HVAC/Building Automation sector.
Hands-on experience with systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC/Building Automation control systems is essential.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical material for a non-technical audience.
Proven ability to work independently.
Proficiency in computer applications such as Windows and Excel.
Knowledge of control theory and HVAC/Building Automation systems is critical.
Understanding of project accounting and costing principles is preferred.

Preferred:

Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent with six years of field experience in the HVAC sector.
Experience preparing status reports for upper management regarding project progress.
High regard for employee and subcontractor safety.
