Aerotek is hiring immediately for an environmental technician! A large nationwide environmental company is looking to hire an environmental technician for their Providence team. As an Environmental Technician, you will be responsible for transporting drums of waste, identifying the contents of the drums, and ensuring they are correctly labeled and disposed of. You will also load and offload drums onto trucks, separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste, and maintain the cleanliness of the warehouse. The company will provide certification for the 40 Hour Hazwoper certification.

Responsibilities

• Transport drums of waste and dispose of them in a hopper.

• Identify and label the contents of each drum.

• Load and offload drums onto trucks.

• Separate hazardous and non-hazardous waste and place them in the correct areas of the warehouse.

• Maintain warehouse cleanliness by sweeping and organizing.

Essential Skills

• Experience in construction, environmental science, and general labor.

• Ability to work in environmental remediation.

• Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

• Great mindset with a desire to build a career.

• Experience in warehouse operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 1 year or more of experience in environmental labor.

• Osha 10 certification preferred.

• 40 Hour Hazwoper certification is a plus but not required as training and certification will be provided.

Work Environment

The work environment is a mix of indoor and outdoor settings. The shift is Monday to Friday, with hours from 6 am to 2:30 pm or 7 am to 3:30 pm, with opportunities for overtime.

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
