Client Overview:
Our client is looking to add a
Project Engineer
to their team. This role is ideal for a hands-on engineering professional with a strong foundation in technical principles and a commitment to driving transformational change.
Salary/Hourly Rate:
$33/hr - $37/hr
Position Overview:
The Project Engineer will be based on-site in Jefferson City, Missouri, to oversee and support the full lifecycle delivery of transformational capital projects at the company's factory. Reporting to the Head of B&W and PC Engineering Transformation, this role ensures seamless execution of projects that prioritize safety, product quality, timeliness, and cost-efficiency.
Responsibilities of the Project Engineer:
Project Management:
Lead the execution of transformational capital projects, coordinating with site operations and external teams (R&D, brand, procurement, suppliers, etc.).
Supervise full-time and contracted teams, including construction management firms, to ensure project delivery adheres to the company's standards.
Manage the design, construction, installation, commissioning, and handover processes with minimal supervision.
Ensure safety, product quality, and adherence to project schedules and budgets.
Leadership and Collaboration:
Act as the primary project representative, maintaining constructive collaboration with various stakeholders.
Make independent decisions, manage expectations, and navigate trade-offs to meet factory needs.
Lead additional activities in safety, quality, and environmental initiatives as part of the Project team.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation:
Challenge conventional methodologies to deliver projects faster, more cost-effectively, and safely.
Introduce new ways of working within the engineering and project management community.
Promote a culture of transformation and uphold the company's core values in every aspect of project execution.
Qualifications for the Project Engineer:
Minimum of 3 years of engineering experience in FMCG, food manufacturing, or a related industry, or within an engineering consultancy.
Proven expertise in project management, maintenance, and/or continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated ability to deliver major capital projects ($5 - 10 million) from initiation to completion.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with negotiation expertise.
Familiarity with World Class Manufacturing (WCM), Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt), Lean Manufacturing, and/or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) is a plus.

Education Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent technical discipline is required.
