Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) Must-Have:
Cerner experience
- Provide care to patients with common diagnoses including sepsis, stroke, heart failure, pneumonia, respiratory failure, substance withdrawal, epilepsy, trauma, post-operative recovery, myocardial infarction, and coronary artery disease.- Administer non-titratable cardiac drips and IV
Monitor vital signs and perform nursing interventions every 4 hours, with increased frequency as necessary for patient conditions.- Work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 4-5:
1 in a unit with 51 beds.- Complete charting using the Cerner electronic medical record system.- Wear navy blue scrubs as part of the uniform policy.- Support areas include intermediate care and medical/surgical units.- Perform special procedures such as chest tube insertion, PICC line placement, central line insertion at bedside, and care for dialysis patients.
Monitor EMU as needed.- Fulfill weekend requirements on an every-other-weekend basis.- Float as needed within the skillset to support the unit.
This position requires a dedicated nurse with strong clinical skills, adaptable to various patient needs, and capable of providing excellent care in a dynamic environment.
