Essential Functions: The Parent Educator develops, coordinates, implements quality professional parent education to support services to fulfill the mission of promoting confidence and competence of parents in order to maximize the normal, optimal growth and development of their children. Counsels, coaches and teaches classes to parents who are struggling with parent/child adjustment problems. Develops and conducts professional training workshops for mental health, parenting education and educational community.

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS

3-5 years of experience in early childhood development, teaching adults, counseling and providing parenting education programs; Preferred- 5 or more

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS

Required: Master's degree in Social Work/Counseling or Education or related field.

Preferred: Parenting Center Education Courses. Knowledge base of child development. Master's Degree in Mental Health Field

LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS

Preferred: RMSW, LMSW, LCSW, LPC

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Knowledge of child development, early childhood, effects of trauma on parents and children, parenting education.

Ability to work with diverse parent populations
