Salesman/Estimator - CNC Machine ShopReports To: President

FLSA Status: Non-exempt

SUMMARY: The Salesman/Estimator at Rimeco Products will serve as a key liaison between the company and its clients, responsible for generating new business opportunities, managing client relationships, and providing accurate project cost estimates. This role requires a skilled professional with a deep understanding of CNC machining processes and excellent communication skills.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Sales and Business Development (75%)
• Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the Aerospace & Defense industry.
• Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with existing and potential clients.
• Collaborate with the sales team to meet and exceed sales targets and revenue goals.
• Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for potential projects, including material costs, labor, and overhead.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, and other project-related documents to assess project requirements.
• Prepare and present proposals to clients, highlighting the value and capabilities of Rimeco Products, Inc.
• Negotiate contract terms and conditions to secure new projects.
• Act as the primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, providing project updates, and resolving issues.
• Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site visits as needed.
• Stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and market developments.
• Provide market insights and recommendations to senior management.
• Project Coordination (15%)
• Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality control teams to ensure successful project execution.
• Monitor project progress and provide regular updates to clients.
• Documentation and Reporting (10%)
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions, project estimates, and sales activities.
• Generate sales reports and provide regular updates to senior management.
• Performs all other duties as assigned.

• Education and/or Experience - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field (Master's degree preferred). Proven experience in sales and estimating within the CNC machining industry. Excellent communication, leadership, and team management capabilities.
• Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical drawings and specifications. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to effectively present information to management. Ability to interact clearly and effectively, in both written and oral communication, with supervisor, clients, staff, vendors, etc.
• Mathematical Skills - To apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
• Computer Skills - To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in personal computer skills including electronic mail, record keeping, routine database activity, word processing, etc. This role requires knowledge of Microsoft Office and extensive knowledge Excel spreadsheet and ERP Systems.
• Other Qualifications - Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills. Safety-conscious with a commitment to quality and efficiency.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing the duties of this job, the individual must be able to remain in a stationary position for 60 percent of the time while operating their computer and performing office work. The individual needs to spend time on the shop floor reviewing process cycle times and estimates vs. actuals. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other individuals in the office and shop.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Due to exposure of machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment.
