Schedule Information RN Ratio (Days): Med-Surg-5 to 1
RN Ratio (Nights): Med-Surg-6 to 1
Shifts Available: 12 hour
Shift Times: 1830-0700
Weekend Requirements: Every other weekend
Type of Staff Scheduling: RN's work in a Team Model with Nursing Assistants.
Staff scheduling tool: Smart Square using 6 week schedule periods.

Level of Care: Medical Surgical
Common Drips/Medications: Heparin gtt, blood products.
Specialty Equipment Available: Code Carts, LUCAS Machines, hoyer lift, Sit and Stand.
Staffing, Quick turnaround of patients as unit challenges.
Patients meeting goals to be ready for discharge home as a focus of patient experience.
Additional Unit Specific Information: Looking for nurses with orthopedic and medical surgical experience, flexibility, resilience, organizational and communications skills.

RN's - Pass/Fail exam on Friday during orientation.
OPEN BOOK exam on skills learned - they are given all necessary resources to pass.
Must receive a 90% to pass or they will be terminated.

Common Patient Diagnosis: Orthopedic surgeries, Orthopedic injuries, Oncology, Post Surgicals such as hysterectomies, breast reconstruction, plastic surgery, Urological cases, abdominal cases, Behavioral patients awaiting medical clearance.
