Custom Mold & Design is searching for a Design Engineer on 1st shift to support our manufacturing facility in Forest Lake, MN.
This position will report to the Director of Operations, and has no direct reports.

This is an on-site position. The typical pay range for this role: $70,000-$95,000

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The compensation that will be offered to the successful candidate will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography, internal equity and other relevant factors.

Key Accountabilities (results expected to achieve):

Plans and develops robust designs per customer specifications.

Key Responsibilities (tasks that you do to achieve the accountabilities):

Work with customers to ensure the product will conform to their requirements and meet their needs.
Assist customers with part design issues, thus creating more robust designs.
Create detailed written communication documenting processes to be used.
Work cooperatively with all employees.
Take responsibility to see jobs are completed when due.
Develop, evaluate and improve mold building techniques.
Communicate at a high level both internally and externally.
Performs all other assignments as required

Qualities for Success: Change

Preferred 2-year trade school with emphasis on tool making or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years' experience as a Mold Designer or Tool Maker
Valid identification and the ability to work legally in the United States.
Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including presentation skills; effective business correspondence and reporting; working knowledge of Microsoft Office and business operating systems; proficient in the use of design and/or programming software such as Creo and Solid works.
Knowledge:Knowledge of engineering or technical operations; knowledge of blue print reading; skilled in the use of design and/or programming software and various other manufacturing systems; an understanding of component and/or mold manufacturing and ability to make decisions on in process tolerancing.
Abilities:To be able to perform daily tasks safely; to work independently with limited supervision; to be able to solve practical problems and work effectively with customers, vendors and other departments.
