Description & Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Hadoop Engineer to build a cutting-edge data and analytics platform with Big Data and Analytics capabilities for a Federal critical infrastructure agency. They will implement Hadoop to enable integration of cutting-edge technologies (like Artificial Intelligence and Machine learning models) and facilitate surging data requirements across the program. They will deliver accessible, elastic environmental information for the agency and American public, as well as integrate with adjacent data and analytics platforms to provide an enterprise-wide view of environmental and compliance data.

Major responsibilities include:

Design, model, or implement Big Data structures and capabilities, like Hadoop.
Integrate big data and analytics capabilities to ingest and sustain surging data requirements
Leverage open standards and best practice data models to minimize complexity and enable data integration with adjacent programs.
Effectively collaborate with business and technical agency staff to develop data vision, features, and release cycles.
Interface with technical team members, adjacent program offices, adjacent contractors, and external stakeholders

Minimum Education requirement:

University degree (BS) in a closely related field (Information Technology, Business Administration)

Years of Required Work-Related Experience:

5+ years demonstrated experience creating and sustaining Big Data and analytics platforms.

Required Certifications:

IBM Hadoop certification, or closely related

Minimum Requirements

TCS195, T3, Band 6

• Experience with EPA Program offices, development methodologies, and product lifecycles

Pay Transparency

Maximus compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to job location, a candidate's education, training, experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value analysis including seniority and merit systems, as well as internal pay alignment. Annual salary is just one component of Maximus's total compensation package. Other rewards may include short- and long-term incentives as well as program-specific awards. Additionally, Maximus provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off. Compensation ranges may differ based on contract value but will be commensurate with job duties and relevant work experience. An applicant's salary history will not be used in determining compensation. Maximus will comply with regulatory minimum wage rates and exempt salary thresholds in all instances.
