Human Resources Manager
Since 1973, Taber Extrusions has been a leading manufacturer of aluminum extrusion-based products for OEMs in markets ranging from Military, Department of Defense, Aircraft/Aerospace, Marine/Shipbuilder, Boat Docks, Platforms, Decking, Motor Housing, Electronics, Heat Sinks, Automotive, Rail, and Structural Components.
Taber is headquartered in Russellville, Arkansas and operates two manufacturing sites, one in Russellville and one manufacturing site located in Gulfport, Mississippi.
The Company is segmented into five operating units; Extrusion, Cast House, Fabrication, Friction Stir Welding and Micro Extrusion.
Taber has continued to make ongoing investments in their value-added capabilities by recently expanding their Russellville facility.
Currently Taber Extrusions is seeking a Human Resource Manager for its Gulfport, MS facility to support the locations management team and ensure positive people relations, efficient administrative operations, drive employee engagement, and lead recruiting efforts for its operations.

Job Summary
The Human Resource Manager has overall responsibility for the human resource and safety functions as they relate to all Taber team members, including but not limited to, employee relations, compensation and benefits administration, employment policies, personnel record-keeping, training and development, Affirmative Action, EEO, compliance with HR laws and regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensures policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance
Oversees recruits, interviews, tests and selects employees to fill vacant positions
Oversees the Administration of Health and Safety programs to ensure compliance with requirements
Delivers new employee orientation to foster positive attitude toward company goals
Maintains records of benefits plans participation, training, personnel transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations as well as employee statistics for government reporting
Manages and coordinates training for company policies, rules, benefits, etc.
Ensures the coordination of safety training to educate workers about safety policies, laws and practices.
Advises management in appropriate resolution of employee relations' issues
Develops and maintains job descriptions to update periodically
Responds to inquiries regarding policies, procedures and programs
Serves as facility EEO and AAP Coordinator, maintaining logs throughout the year that provide necessary data for completion of the affirmative action plan
Assists in the investigation of industrial accidents to minimize recurrence.
Oversees the processing of Worker's Compensation Claims, i.e., working with WC Adjusters, claims and payments, working with clinics and facilities, as well as legal counsel when warranted
Administers benefits programs such as life, health, dental and disability insurance, pension plans, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence and employee assistance program
Prepares employee separation notices and related documentation
Works with corporate legal counsel in managing actions and proceedings that may arise resulting from discipline, discharge, or other legal matters
Coordinate and relay information relative to Union issues and provide appropriate responses.
Maintains grievance logs and coordinates union/company meetings
Works closely with the Plant Manager to address union issues and changes
Participates in all steps of the grievance process and meetings
Maintain the grievance log and notes
Participates in union negotiations as the contract term expires
Updates the contract relative to negotiated changes
Relays information pertinent to any changes
Represents organization at personnel-related hearings and investigations
Follows safe work procedures
Education and Experience
Ability to preserve confidential and proprietary information and avoid conflicts of interest.
Ability to work in an autonomous environment with minimal direction and instruction.
Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.
Knowledge of first aid procedures, techniques and equipment.
Thorough understanding of corporate and industry safety practices, processes, standards, technology, equipment methods, etc.

Must be familiar with Microsoft Office Suite, with some HRIS system experience.
Must be capable of reading, writing and understanding the English language.
Must understand and enforce company safety rules and regulations to ensure safe working environment.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and three to five years related experience, and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
