Specialty: Primary Care, outpatient only (Family Medicine/Internal Medicine)
Schedule: Full-time, M-F (36 patient-facing hours/week)
Practice Detail: Join an established primary care practice (2 MDs and 2 APPs).
EMR System: Athena
Facility: Ascension Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast-Destin Market Shops (Rheumatology, Rehab, lab and imaging services also offered at this location. )
Location: Destin/Miramar Beach, FL

This job location is currently located in a Health Professional Shortage Areas (HPSAs) and/or Medically Underserved Areas/Populations (MUA/P) Shortage Designation Type.

What You Will Do

Ascension Medical Group is looking for a Primary Care Physician (either Family Medicine or Internal Medicine) for our Primary Care Clinic at Destin Market Shops.

This is a great opportunity for the right candidate to partner with Ascension Sacred Heart on the Emerald Coast to provide medical services to patients.

Responsibilities:

Evaluates and treats patients with appropriate medical diagnostic and treatment skills.
Recommends, participates in, and works to ensure the success of efforts to improve cost effectiveness and quality of care provided to patients.
Accepts patient referrals from other physicians. Acts as admitting, attending and/or consulting physician for patients who require hospitalization for primary medical diagnoses, depending on needs of patients, medical staff and hospital.
Participates in academic programs (e. g. medical education and research) as requested.
Provides appropriate documentation that meets insurance company requirements; appeal all denials in a timely manner.
Participates in inpatient and outpatient consultation for specialty, which may include on call schedules.

What You Will NeedLicensure/Certification/Registration:

Licensed Physician MD/DO credentialed from the Florida Board of Medicine obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. Board eligibility/certification in medical specialty required.
Advanced Life Support credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) preferred.

Education:

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) required.
