Driver/Shop Helper

Position Description:
The Driver/Shop Helper is responsible for delivering and picking up vehicles and equipment for the facility and assisting in the overall operation of sales and service departments. Wear a company-approved uniform. Must present a professional appearance.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Comply with all motor vehicle laws.
Drive defensively.
Deliver vehicles to customers, other facilities, and vendors in a timely manner.
Properly secure the motorcycle in the delivery vehicle for safe transport.
Pick up vehicles from customers, other facilities, and vendors to be coordinated with the Service Manager or other designated employee.
Complete a log at the time of delivery and obtain the recipient's signature.
Assist with organization and cleanliness of facility and property.
Maintain cleanliness of the delivery vehicle, recommend repairs/maintenance work to management, and ensure registration and license tag are current.
Assist with new motorcycle uncrating and set-up.
Assist with cleaning and detailing customer and internal vehicles. See Detail Technician for additional information.
Assist technicians or other dealership personnel when asked.
Interact with customers in a courteous and friendly manner.
Complete all training as directed by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Educational:
High school diploma or the equivalent.
Experience:
None.
Special Skills (i.e., licenses, certifications, etc.):
Ability to communicate well orally and in writing with customers, vendors, and other contacts. Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information. Should be knowledgeable about the area or town. Current valid motorcycle-endorsed driver's license. Must qualify for company insurance coverage.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions:
The noise level in the work environment is usually loud. Frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, reach, and handle tools. Frequently requires the ability to balance and push 900-pound motorcycles. Frequently works near moving mechanical parts. Is potentially exposed to battery acid, gasoline, chemical cleaning materials, or other toxic materials commonly found in a motorcycle repair facility. Frequently, exposed to exhaust fumes or other airborne particles.
