POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role of the Agricultural Portfolio Manager is to support the analysis of the credit worthiness of the organization's credit relationships. This role is responsible for assigned client credit relationships in the agricultural lending segment. Supports the bank's agricultural loan officers and interacts with agricultural customers as necessary.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

During the deal process, help prepare credit package for timely review and final approval including oral presentations to appropriate loan approval bodies. This includes obtaining and analyzing borrower financial statements, personal tax returns, stress-testing, profitability analysis and presentation of such material or any material that would be relevant for prudent risk management practices.
Makes appropriate and timely notification to credit approval staff of tardy and non-compliant borrowers, both during the loan process and during the life of the loan.
Assist with the workflow of the relevant departments for the origination and documentation of all loans.
Following the loan decision-making process, works closely with the team to coordinate the documentation, closing, booking, and timely loan package completion.
Makes recommendations during the underwriting process.
Assist and participate in both client and prospective business calling preparation.
Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws and regulations, including but not limited to the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Formal credit training; ability to understand basic cash-flow analysis using tax returns, financial statements, balance sheets, income statements, or profit & loss statements.
EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS & TRAINING:

High school diploma or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or applicable degree area preferred.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Individuals in this position must be able to perform essential functions and physical demands within these documented working conditions with or without reasonable accommodation:

This position is in an office environment within a climate-controlled facility that can be high-traffic during peak service times. There is frequent use of the telephone, computer and other office equipment associated with this position, as well as a large amount of face-to-face interaction staff and customers. Individuals in this position are typically seated at their personal desk for the majority of the day. This position may require some travel to different locations at times which will result in some tasks being performed in venues (internal and/or external of the bank) other than the assigned office.

The individual responsible for this role must be able to perform job functions with indirect supervision and work effectively as a member of a team and independently. The individual must be capable of working harmoniously with diverse personalities of co-workers, staff and customers. This position requires regular and reliable attendance and the ability to work varying hours.
