Position Summary

The House Supervisor (RN) is responsible for supporting the mission of the hospital and providing patients with the highest quality of healthcare within an atmosphere of genuine caring. The House Supervisor supports nursing unit management and acts as a liaison between Nursing Administration and Nursing Services. The position encompasses the coordination of ancillary departments with Nursing Services involving equipment, medical records, treatments, exams, pharmacy procedures, maintaining a current report on patient census, personnel, patients, and provider needs whenever necessary. The House Supervisor serves to ensure coordination of patient care throughout the continuum of care. The House Supervisor assists the Nursing Administration in a variety of roles and adapts to the needs of the Hospital on a day-to-day basis.

Qualifications/Experience Education:

Graduate of an accredited RN program.

Experience:

Three years of experience in direct patient care is preferred. Critical Care Nursing experience is preferred.

Licenses/Certificate:

Current licensure to practice as an RN in the State of Arkansas (includes multistate).

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification required.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Certification required (may be obtained within 3 months of hire)

PALS Certification required (may be obtained within 3 months of hire)

NRP Certification required (may be obtained within 3 months of hire)

Uses appropriate judgement in managing patient flow and throughput across all departments.
Demonstrate knowledge of normal physical assessment findings and appropriately address abnormal findings.
Exhibit appropriate communication skills necessary to provide patient care directives and interpret responses to treatment.
Demonstrate appropriate awareness of suspected abuse/neglect and take measures to report suspicions.
Demonstrate competency and knowledge in proper techniques for medication and immunization administration.
Meet departmental standards and competencies as evidenced by department-specific documentation.
Attend scheduled departmental meetings and education.
Report safety concerns or events appropriately and participate in performance improvement initiatives for the department and facility.
Follow standard precaution protocols and abide by Infection Control procedures.
Provide care directed by providers in a compassionate, supportive, and respectful manner to families, patients, and visitors at all times.
Other duties as assigned.
