About the Position:

This position is at the DeSoto County Probation Parole Office. This position will have the following essential functions, but are not limited to: Answering the telephone, typing letters, memos, and other documents, setting up and maintaining property inventory, compiling monthly reports, maintaining staff training records, monitoring and ordering supplies, processing incoming and outgoing mail, processing and maintaining purchase requisitions, and receiving reports. Employees at this level are required to be familiar with the knowledge of the procedures and processes applicable to the performance of the work.
What you'll need to be Successful:

Demonstrate the ability to perform essential functions in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. Must be able to abide by the MS State Personnel Board and MDOC rules, regulations and procedures governing the agency.

Essential Functions

Paid Personal Leave and Sick Leave

Full-time employees receive paid time off for personal needs and for sick leave. Leave begins accruing after one month of employment and may be used as it is accrued. Employees earn approximately 18 days of personal leave annually and 12 days of sick leave annually.

In accordance with federal law, all employees serving in the armed forces or the military reserves are entitled to 15 days per year for military training.
