Accountant - Staff

The staff accountant obtains financial data and applies principles of accounting for use in maintaining financial information. Assists the Controller in all functions, including reporting of the hospital's financial operations.
Requirements:

Associate's degree

Major Responsibilities:
Prepares monthly general and std journal entries; financial statements; comparative analysis and monthly account reconciliation.
Generates timely financial reports for monthly distribution.
Maintains financial reports and records.
Provides information for internal and external requests (regulatory agencies; industry; third party payors).
Oversees key segments of accounting - fixed assets.
Provides support services for general accounting and accounts payable.
Provides interpretation of financial/statistical information for departments.
Assists in the preparation and execution of independent audits (financial and federal regulatory).
