Transportation Manager
We are seeking a Transportation Manager to oversee and coordinate the operations of our transportation department. As a Transportation Manager, you will be responsible for managing the movement of goods from production to customers, ensuring timely and efficient delivery while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for developing and implementing transportation strategies, managing third-party logistics providers, monitoring transportation costs, and ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements. Additionally, you will supervise and train transportation staff, optimize routes and schedules, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve overall supply chain efficiency.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in transportation management, excellent leadership and communication skills, and a thorough understanding of logistics and supply chain principles.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement transportation strategies, policies, and procedures to optimize operations and improve efficiency
Manage and supervise a team of drivers, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and company policies
Coordinate with logistics and warehouse teams to plan and schedule the delivery of goods
Monitor transportation costs and implement cost-saving measures
Track and analyze transportation KPIs to identify areas for improvement
Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods to meet customer requirements
Communicate and collaborate with external stakeholders including suppliers, customers, and transportation service providers
Resolve any transportation-related issues or delays in a timely manner
Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in transportation management
Requirements:
Proven work experience as a Transportation Manager or similar role
In-depth knowledge of transportation operations, regulations, and logistics concepts
Strong leadership and team management skills
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency in transportation management software and systems
Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field
Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
