Job Specification: Bookkeeper
Position: Bookkeeper
Location: Moreton, Wirral (CH46)
Salary: £20,000 – £25,000 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 30 hours per week (flexible schedule to suit childcare or school hours)
Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to join a reputable accounting firm based in Moreton, Wirral. This role offers flexibility, making it ideal for someone balancing work with school-age children.
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain accurate financial records, including processing invoices, receipts, and payments.
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accounts are updated accurately.
• Prepare VAT returns and assist with month-end and year-end processes.
• Support the preparation of financial reports for clients.
• Communicate effectively with clients to gather necessary financial information and resolve queries.
• Ensure compliance with accounting regulations and internal company policies.
Preferred Software Experience:
• Xero
• QuickBooks
• Sage
• Moneysoft
Candidate Requirements:
• Proven experience in bookkeeping, ideally within an accounting firm or similar environment.
• Proficiency in using accounting software such as Xero, QuickBooks, Sage, and Moneysoft.
• Strong numerical and organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and efficiently manage multiple tasks.
• Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients and colleagues.
• A relevant bookkeeping qualification (e.g., AAT) is desirable but not essential.
