Summary

Collaborating with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers to create the Architectural runway for our Platform teams.
Partner with Enterprise Architecture & service providers to elaborate on solutions, their interfaces and validating technology assumptions.
Providing analysis of options and deliver end-to-end solution designs using relevant architectural building blocks.
Promoting adaptive design practices to drive collaboration across Platform teams.
Owning the technical design risks or issues and driving resolution through architectural or agile practices.
Participating in Agile ceremonies, elicit requirements, shape & validate designs or prototypes.
Leveraging industry best practices, frameworks, standards & policies.
Contributing to the financial investment process to obtain funding for key solution opportunities.
Setting guiding principles and solution success criteria for platform capability or feature development.
Providing oversight & foster built-in quality, decoupled & modernized architectures.
Supporting Product Owners & Platform Leads in identifying, articulating and impact assessing software & infrastructure currency risks.
Supporting Product Owners & Platform Leads on the technical aspect of activities linked with Platform financial estimation, spend or risk management processes.

Job Title: Solution Architect
Location: London or Edinburgh
Hours: Full-time - 35 hours per week
Working Pattern: Hybrid, involving at least two days per week at our London or Edinburgh office.

What you'll do

Collaborate with Product Owners, Platform Leads, Enterprise Architects & Engineers to create the Architectural runway for your lab.
Be responsible for our application architecture and the delivery of our engineering design deliverables.
Manage the IT Roadmap, driving best practice initiatives.
Ensure IT compliance and governance policies are met.
Partner with fellow solution architects & service providers to elaborate on solutions.
Provide analysis of options and deliver end-to-end solution designs.
Promote adaptive design practices to drive collaboration across Platform teams.
Capture technical design risks or issues and drive resolution.

What you'll need

Prior experience in a solution architecture position, strong experience of solution design.
Strong knowledge of microservices, containerisation, cloud native and event-driven design concepts.
Good knowledge of infrastructure and security architecture practices.
Experience of API Gateways & Management Platforms.
Cloud Platform as a Service or similar offerings - preferably GCP.
Appreciates Architectural Frameworks such as TOGAF, Archimate.

It would be great if you also had

Experience in the banking and finance industry.
Experience with Process Automation.
Preferable experience with Python and Big Data technologies including ML.
Exposure to open-source technologies and frameworks.
Experience in agile / iterative design working practices.
Knowledge of AI.
