Mechatronics Engineer Huracan

Here at The Exploration Company, we are developing, producing, and operating Nyx, a modular and reusable space orbital vehicle that can eventually be refuelled in orbit and that can carry cargo - and potentially humans in the longer run.

We are seeking a talented and experienced Mechatronics Engineer to join our innovative team.
In this role, you will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of the electric motors which drive the pumps of a cryogenic rocket engine.
Key responsibilities:
Drive the motor's magnetic and mechanical design from architecture to component designEnsure that detailed analysis is performed to ensure the motors meet the reliability, efficiency and power targetsDevelop validation/verification tools dedicated to the design and development of electric motorsManage exchanges with suppliers and keep track of development timelinesSupport test campaigns at both component and system-level (configuration definition, test execution and results reviews)Manage the interfaces between the motors and the other components of the engine (inverters, harnessing.
)Support the resolution of issues encountered with the motors during development and qualificationSupport design iterations of assemblies and/or components including manufacturing improvements to reduce their cost and lead timeWhat we'd love to see from you:
Master's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a related fieldExperience in the preliminary and detailed design of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM) componentsExperience with Simcenter MAGNET and SPEED is a plusStrong knowledge of electromagnetic and thermal analysisProven experience in an entire product life cycle, from design to commissioningBasic knowledge of electrical harnessing and connectorsExperience with space mechanisms is a plusUnderstanding of space-relevant standards (like ECSS, MIL-STD, NASA-HBK) and regulations is a plusFluency in EnglishWhy you should join us!What makes us special here at The Exploration Company and why we think you will enjoy working here is:
