Shape the Future of Defense and Security Solutions
Join Terma as a Product Director in our newly established Product Management department. Take on a pivotal role in developing and executing the strategic vision for our Multi Domain Systems (MDS) and Self Protection Service (SPS) portfolios, driving innovation and growth across our defense and security solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Vision & Portfolio Management
   • Develop long-term product vision and roadmaps for MDS and SPS portfolios.
   • Build product roadmaps aligned with Terma's growth strategy and stakeholder priorities.
   • Understand market need and prioritize portfolio investments.
2. Product Innovation & Growth
   • Identify new product opportunities and ensure a strong activity pipeline for development and launch.
   • Champion new product concepts and build strong business cases.
   • Measure and act on portfolio performance.
3. Foundational Product Management Skills
   • Manage end-to-end product lifecycle, including strategy, development, and launch.
   • Build and prioritize product roadmaps for new and existing products.
   • Familiarize with defense technologies and systems.
   • Foster collaboration between product and commercial-focused product managers across both business areas.
4. Agile Methodologies
   • Transform and transition a market from projects to scalable products, and from hardware to software as a service.
5. Business Acumen
   • Understand program budgets, cost analysis, and ROI for defense projects.
   • Build and follow up on business cases and commercial performance.
6. Communication and Leadership
   • Collaborate across stakeholders and convey customer needs into technical solutions.
   • Lead cross-functional teams and negotiate with contractors and government agencies.

As Product Director, you will be a key player in shaping the future of the MDS and SPS product portfolios by building visionary, yet implementable, roadmaps and turning these into tangible product investments driving profitable product programs. The position demands a strategic mindset and a deep holistic and commercial understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities within these areas.

Qualifications:

Your educational background is not decisive; the most important factor is your experience with Product management and Portfolio management.
Furthermore, in order to succeed in this position, you are expected to

• Uphold an understanding of defense acquisition regulations & security protocols.
• Apply program management expertise within the defense acquisition lifecycle.
• Maintain strong relationships with government agencies & contractors.

Required Competencies:

• Weekly reporting to the VP of Product Management
• Structured and able to keep a joint overview of the portfolio and its performance
• Strong project management and coordination skills.
• Clear communicator who can engage across business areas and regions.
• Proactive approach to tasks and challenges, and able to manage your stakeholders
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office tool suite (primarily Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
• Ability to travel approximately 15-20 days per year.

About the Product Management Department:

Product Management is a newly established department within R&D at Terma, responsible for managing our diverse product portfolio across Space, Aero, Ground, and Maritime domains through our Radar & MDS product portfolios. Our Product Managers balance three critical focus areas:
Strategic, Commercial, and Product. We work collaboratively to navigate through the various stages of the end-to-end product lifecycle, ensuring the delivery of profitable and high-quality products that support Terma's growth journey.
