A large and complex organization, eHealth is comprised of 30+ clinical and non-clinical program (service) areas that all work together to support health care providers and teams across the province in delivering the best possible care to patients, providers, citizens, and health system users. Programs range from primary care to acute care, and includes laboratories, pharmaceuticals and diagnostics. Additional programs that also support patient care and information include Virtual Care, the MySaskHealthRecord, and the Provincial Electronic Health Record.

About the Role:
eHealth Saskatchewan is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented individual to join the Enterprise Systems team as a Junior Application Support Analyst.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Systems, the ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting several applications, assisting with day-to-day tasks of the team, technical documentation, and stakeholder management. In addition, the candidate must have an Information Technology background and take pride in delivering strong customer service, troubleshooting, and resolving technology issues that have the potential to impact patient care.

Typical Daily Duties:
  1. Supporting several custom-built applications.
  2. Working within & maintaining servers.
  3. Collaborating with stakeholders regarding incidents and projects.
  4. Supporting Senior Application Support Analysts in application development.
  5. Collaborating & coordinating with senior developers about the progress of projects.
  6. Coordinating with vendors to resolve issues.
  7. Testing applications & other related products.
What are we looking for?
The knowledge and skills required for this position would be attained through the completion of a Degree in Computer Science or related area of study. In addition to educational requirements, the successful candidate will have 2+ years of experience working within an integrated IT/Health support environment and supporting applications. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional skills/experience include:
  1. Experience providing technical support, desktop support or system administration.
  2. Experience in conducting root cause analysis on application performance and processes, identifying improvements, and recommending solutions.
  3. Understanding of database concepts, theories, and principles.
  4. Requirement analysis and solution design techniques.
  5. Programming concepts, techniques, and languages.
  6. Knowledge and experience working with Markup Languages such as XML and HTML.
  7. Experience documenting requirements, project plans and procedures.
  8. Experience in web development.
  9. Experience working with integrated, enterprise-scaled systems in a healthcare setting will be considered an asset.

  1. Communication: Ability to write/create and communicate (verbal and written), explain or present (technical or nontechnical) information to a wide variety of technical and non-technical individuals and/or groups in a clear, accurate and understandable manner.
  2. Problem Solving: Ability to diagnose technical problems such as delays, malfunctions, and errors in order to determine the true cause of the problem and provide a workable solution in a reasonable time frame.
  3. Interpersonal: Ability to build cooperative working relationships with coworkers and clients to ensure credibility and confidence in services provided as well as to build capacity in client's knowledge and ability to use and apply services.
  4. Organizational: Ability to independently prioritize and organize one's own workload to meet tight deadlines and successfully complete projects in changing environment (a bit of project management involved).
  5. Team Work/Independence: Ability to work independently and participate as a team member to meet the needs of clients and coworkers and to build productive, positive work relationships.
  6. Technical: Ability to design, test, implement or adapt existing systems/applications in an integrated environment considering design alternatives, business requirements, system impacts and cost, resource, and time constraints.
