About the Awāsisak Ka-Sīhtoskāhcihk Child Advocacy Centre (ASK) The Awāsisak Ka-Sīhtoskāhcihk Child Advocacy Centre (ASK) is an emerging non-profit organization dedicated to providing a safe and supportive environment for children and youth who have experienced abuse.
Our mission is to offer a multidisciplinary approach to support children, youth and families as they navigate through investigation, intervention, and treatment, while working in collaboration with law enforcement, child protection services, medical professionals, and mental health professionals.
Position OverviewWe are seeking a full-time 6-month Project Lead with the goal of transitioning to CEO in Fall 2025, to join community leaders in Saskatchewan as we embark on a dynamic and evolving mission to make a meaningful impact in our community.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead and shape the operational foundation of a growing organization.
This role of Project Lead (PL) is responsible for managing all operational activities of ASK CAC, ensuring alignment with the policies and strategic direction set by the Board.
Acting as the primary link between the Board and ASK CAC operations, the Project Lead will oversee the implementation of policies, staff management, and strategic initiatives.
The Project Lead's performance directly reflects the success and efficiency of the ASK CAC mission.
ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidate will have a strong commitment to collaborative partnerships, innovation, incorporation activities, and other responsibilities critical to establishing and growing a newly formed organization.
They will work collaboratively within the Saskatchewan community and alongside many key partners in various disciplines to support the implementation and delivery of the child advocacy Centre framework in our community.1.
Values, Vision, & Mission:
Collaborate with the Board to review ASK CAC vision and mission.Ensure the vision and mission are achieved through effective policy development, strategic planning, and operational execution.Develop strategies to align with and fulfill Board strategic directions.2.
Communication and Board Support:
Provide timely and clear monitoring reports to support informed decision-making.Communicate any non-compliance issues and establish mechanisms for regular Board communication.Advise on governance policy needs and keep the Board informed of relevant developments.Assist the Board Chair in setting priorities and ensuring Board effectiveness.3.
Reputation and Positioning:
Promote and safeguard ASK CAC's reputation with the public, government agencies, partners, and stakeholders.Ensure day-to-day operations reflect ASK CAC's values and mission.Implement conflict of interest policies to uphold organizational integrity.4.
Operational Performance:
Regularly monitor operations and implement improvements to ensure organizational success.Lead program development and ensure alignment with Board strategic directions.Attend and support all Board and committee meetings.Demonstrate a strong commitment to collaborative partnerships, innovation, incorporation activities, and other responsibilities critical to establishing and growing a newly formed organization.Oversee fundraising initiatives and prepare compelling grant proposals to secure funding for ASK CAC programs and initiatives.5.
Staffing and Team Leadership:
Attract, develop, and retain a high-performing team to achieve ASK CAC goals.Foster a culture conducive to effective service delivery and stakeholder engagement.Ensure compliance with labour, health, and safety laws.Set clear performance goals and provide constructive feedback to staff.Foster a team-oriented environment.6.
Communication and Advocacy:
Communicate ASK CAC activities and achievements to stakeholders, government agencies, and the public.Promote awareness of ASK CAC vision and mission.Build and maintain strong relationships internally and externally.Act as an advocate for ASK CAC and support the Board's advocacy efforts.7.
Financial Planning, Management, and Asset Protection:
Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and management in alignment with Board-approved strategies.Ensure the financial health of ASK CAC through responsible resource allocation and risk management.Provide regular financial reports adhering to accepted accounting principles.Protect ASK CAC assets and advise the Board on financial matters.Qualifications:
Master's degree or work equivalent in relevant or related field.Proven leadership experience in a similar role, preferably within a non-profit or advocacy organization.Entrepreneurial mindset, with innovative approach to business planning.Strong understanding of governance, strategic planning, and operational management.Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with experience in public relations, marketing, and fundraisingDemonstrated ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.Proactive, with demonstrated initiative and creative problem-solving skills.Willing to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with your own.Demonstrate a commitment to enhancing your own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.Financial acumen and experience in budgeting and asset management.Commitment to ASK CAC values, vision, and mission.Salary Range:
$84,000 -$105,000 This role is expected to transition to a Chief Executive Officer (CEO) position in October 2025, with a salary range of $120,000 to $150,000, with bonus opportunities available offering additional growth and leadership opportunities.Proposed Start Date:
