Pengelly Iron Works, a Toronto-based leader in precision metal fabrication with over 60 years of experience, is seeking a talented Project Manager/Estimator to join our dynamic team. Located in North York, our company specializes in crafting high-quality custom metal products for industrial, retail, hospitality, office, and residential sectors.

Position Overview

As a Project Manager/Estimator, you will play a critical role in the successful execution of architectural metalwork projects across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). You will manage projects from concept to completion, ensuring the highest standards of quality and customer satisfaction while delivering accurate cost estimates.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for custom metal fabrication projects.
Collaborate with clients, architects, and contractors to define project scope and specifications.
Oversee project timelines, budgets, and deliverables to ensure successful outcomes.
Coordinate with in-house design, engineering, and workshop teams to achieve seamless execution.
Foster strong client relationships and ensure open communication throughout the project lifecycle.
Conduct site visits in the GTA to assess project requirements and ensure quality installations.

What We're Looking For

Driven Achiever:
Ambitious, with a strong growth mindset and a passion for success in estimating.
Education & Experience:
Bachelor's degree or diploma in a related field, or equivalent trade experience, with 5 years in construction cost estimating.
Technical Skills:
Knowledge of specifications, drawings, materials, methods, and construction processes. Proficiency in quantity takeoff, procurement, pricing, and bid-closing principles.
Attention to Detail:
Ability to ensure estimates are thorough, accurate, and comprehensive.
Strong Communicator & Relationship Builder:
Proven ability to collaborate effectively with clients, subtrade partners, and suppliers.
Organized & Proactive:
Excellent time management skills, with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency in estimating software and the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Project) with a willingness to adopt new technologies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.

• A minimum of five (5) years of proven experience in project management and estimating, preferably in metal fabrication or a related industry.

Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency with estimating software and project management tools is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
