The Clinic Nurse provides compassionate care and support to patients with opiate dependency, working within a multidisciplinary team to deliver harm reduction and supportive treatment modalities. A registered nurse with experience in addiction treatment, you will operate professionally, ethically, and with integrity, collaborating with physicians and other healthcare professionals to plan and implement treatment plans. You will also be responsible for dispensing medications, performing ECGs and venipuncture, and administering injections, with a strong commitment to working with individuals living with addiction and mental health.
• Key Responsibilities:
• Operate professionally, ethically, and with integrity within the guidelines and standards of the Ontario College of Nurses
• Dispense and administer medications as delegated by a licensed Physician
• Collaborate with members of an interdisciplinary team to plan, implement, and evaluate treatment plans
• Perform ECGs, venipuncture, urine drug screening, and other vitals
• Administer injections and ensure proper documentation
• Requirements:
• Diploma in Registered Practical Nursing or Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• Previous experience in addiction treatment and/or a similar field
• Member in good standing with the College of Nurses in Ontario
• Completes yearly CNO Quality Assurance certification
• Provision of a recent and acceptable Criminal Reference Check
• Phlebotomy and Electrocardiogram (ECG/EKG) are an asset
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification is required
• Strong commitment to working with individuals living with addiction and mental health
• Ability to establish therapeutic relationships with patients
• Knowledge of Harm Reduction principles
