The Opportunity:

WSP's ERI (Energy, Resources and Industry) Sector is currently seeking a Structural CAD/Revit Drafter/Designer to support the growth of our Industrial and Resources group. The successful candidate will be someone who will hit the ground running, joining a close-knit team working on heavy industrial manufacturing projects in the Greater Toronto/Hamilton area and Golden Horseshoe. The team is based in Etobicoke, but this role can also be based in Thornhill or Mississauga locations. Reporting to the Senior Engineer/Team Lead, you'll work with a dynamic and busy team working on various small and medium-sized new construction and rehabilitation projects within the mining and heavy industrial sectors. You will apply your structural drafting expertise to support project work from conceptual design through completion.

What you can expect to do here:

• You'll be applying your modelling and design knowledge on project work from conceptual design through to completion, producing models and drawings for planning and construction;
• You'll be looking after technical quality, visualization, cost effectiveness and you'll be fostering and developing client relationships;
• You'll work in CAD and REVIT regularly to develop drawings including those for foundations and structures;
• You'll prepare structural steel 3D models and 2D drawings for industrial buildings, pipe racks, tank foundations, etc. ;
• As a client-facing designer, you'll attend various client sites and conduct field reviews, gather information, and take measurements;
• You'll do material quantity takeoff for steel structures, foundations, excavation and earthworks;
• You'll always ensure health and safety policies are followed at all sites.

We'd love to hear from you if you have.

• College degree/diploma in civil engineering technology, structural engineering or equivalent;
• 5+ years of relevant experience in structural drafting and design, specifically in Heavy Industrial and/or Mining projects desired;
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and REVIT programs;
• Strong understanding of steel and concrete foundations;
• A positive attitude - this is a small, close-knit team and a collaborative workplace.
