Everwind Fuels is seeking an experienced and driven Engagement Manager (Newfoundland & Labrador) to lead the public engagement duties associated with the development of our Burin Peninsula Green Hydrogen & Ammonia project.Key Responsibilities:
Strategic and Operational Engagement:
Implement and manage strategic and operational engagement at a community level for renewable energy projects on the Burin Peninsula.Monitor and report on community engagement activities and project performance.Provide critical input to Environmental Assessment documentation and support project development activities, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and community expectations.Maintain and strengthen relationships with Indigenous partners and communities.Work collaboratively with Qalipu First Nation and Miawpukek First Nation to foster relationships and develop mutually beneficial opportunities.Maintain strong relationships with municipalities (councillors and staff).Maintain strong relationships with Burin Peninsula Energy Board members.Support negotiations of community benefits agreements with municipalities.Community Engagement:
Organize and facilitate open houses, office hours, town halls, municipal presentations, and other public-facing community engagement events.Contribute to Environmental Assessment documentation and project development initiatives.Public-Facing Partnerships:
Manage partnerships with Memorial University, Marine Institute, College of the North Atlantic, industry associations, chambers of commerce, and Community Liaison Committees.Support capacity building initiatives with marginalized and underrepresented communities.Strengthen strategic partnerships with academic institutions, industry associations, and community organizations to foster innovation, collaboration, and local capacity building.Community Relations:
Implement community relations strategy.Monitor and address community concerns.Collaborate with the communications team to develop localized social media content that reflects community interests and project updates.Help provide content for social media to communications team.Administration:
Support the administration of benefits agreements.Complete regulatory reporting on engagement and consultation to provincial authorities.Manage wind farm, marine infrastructure and hydrogen production Community Liaison Committees with administrative support.Qualifications:
Minimum of 10 years of relevant work experience, including roles in stakeholder engagement and community relations.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Environmental Science, Public Administration, Communications, or a related discipline.
A background in Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) is preferred.Proven experience in stakeholder engagement, including working with Indigenous communities, municipal governments, and diverse community groups.Strong understanding of Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) practices, with demonstrated ability to integrate these principles into community and stakeholder engagement activities.Comfortable speaking to and facilitating discussions with groups, including local residents, Indigenous partners, and municipal leaders.Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict-resolution skills, with a track record of building and maintaining positive relationships with stakeholders.Compensation:
