Reports to: Director of Business Analytics

Department: Information Technology

Job Overview: The BI Developer is responsible for creating, managing, and transforming data into reports that provide insights into the business; this includes designing, building, and deploying BI solutions. This individual will be the owner of the Microsoft Power BI application, building reports and dashboards.

Responsibilities:

Designing, developing, deploying, and maintaining business intelligence solutions
Gathering and analyzing data; ensure users can access the data
Design and develop BI dashboards and reports based on business and user requirements
Recommend improvements to streamline processes regarding data flow and data quality to improve accuracy, usability, and value
Conduct maintenance on the Power BI platform
Design solutions that take into consideration the business processes of different departments
Maintain up to date technical documentation
Provide options to address roadblocks in system designs
Prepare and validate end to end business logic and mappings
Develop POC datasets and reports
Utilize best practices in testing and reporting including usability, data integrity, test design, analysis, validation, and documentation
Adapt ETL processes as required to accommodate changes in source systems and business user requirements
Monitor, troubleshoot and debug issues with the system
Design and develop data models to be used for reporting and information delivery
Follow all Peavey Industries L.P. safety policies, procedures, and protocols, report any accidents/incidents, near misses, injuries and concerns to a health and safety committee member, and work in a safe manner that does not create hazards to themselves or others.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Advanced RLS configuration
Advanced level experience with the Microsoft technology stack (SSAS, SSRS, SQL Server, TSQL, MDX, DAX, Power BI, Power Pivot, Power Query)
Understanding of data architecture, data quality, data mapping and data structures
Must be able to understand and prioritize user and business requirements
Proven ability to plan and execute complex projects
An entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to proactively make recommendations and drive the Business Intelligence roadmap

Job Qualifications:

Diploma or degree in computer science
Minimum 5 years of experience handling data and building reports
Previous experience with business intelligence rollouts
Experience building complex measures and calculated fields in Power BI
Retail experience is considered an asset
