Job Summary

Manage end to end Technology and Projects related activities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy

Responsible for the availability, performance, and security of Applications in the production environment.
Engage with various teams on new initiatives/rollouts/problem resolutions.
Participate in core forums requiring technology presence.
Oversee Country Technology projects roll-outs.

Business

Manage SLAs with stakeholders.
Advise on potential risk areas and work out action plans to address them.
Own and implement the Service Improvement initiatives for systems.

Processes

Country technology budget management.
Enable support for key Technology initiatives/risks in Bahrain.
Drive the country business agenda - viz. technology projects, system enhancements, problem resolutions etc.
Ensure high severity issues are resolved promptly. Coordinate with ITSC, CSS/ NSS/PSS as appropriate.
Ensure root cause analysis is completed for all high severity incidents and preventative actions are defined and implemented. Provide quality input into the post mortem process to enable ITSC to deliver quality post mortems.
Review change requests made by business and approve and progress them with appropriate teams.

Review and manage implementation of all changes to ensure no risk to stability of systems/infrastructure.
Participate in PSCs and/or working groups of major projects. Follow the transition process and score production readiness of significant development.
Comply with the Group Operational Risk Policy and the Technology Risk Framework.
Participate in risk meetings and pursue and provide updates on all technology risks.
Be the central point of contact for any Audits surrounding technology/systems to ensure they are facilitated well and are satisfactory.

People & Talent

Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values. Set appropriate tone and expectations from team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Ensure the provision of on-going training and development of people, and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
Employ, engage and retain high quality people, with succession planning for critical roles.
Responsibility to review team structure/capacity plans.
Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.

Risk Management

Responsibilities relating to identifying, assessing, monitoring, controlling and mitigating risks to the Group, as well as an awareness and understanding of the main risks facing the Group and the role the individual plays in managing them.
All responsibilities under the Risk Management Framework - both execution and supervisory - should be referenced.

Governance

Responsibilities relating to the direction, planning, structure, frameworks (e.g. processes and policies) and oversight.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank.
Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
Lead the Country Technology Team to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles.
