1 year fixed contract The Role The British Embassy in Dubai has a vacancy for a full time Regional Learning & Development Officer (RLDO).
Reporting directly to the Regional Learning and Development Manager, the RLDO will be responsible for delivering soft skills and management training for all staff based in the Middle East, which forms part of a wider network including North Africa and South Asia.
Extensive travel across the Middle East region will be required, with some travel within the wider network.Account Management Consult with Post leadership to conduct overall learning needs analysis to ensure learning & development needs are identified.
Recommend that the right mix of Learning & Development (L&D) interventions (70/20/10) is included in the L&D Strategy, in the Post Account Plan and are in-line with the organisation, Post, teams and individuals needs.
Cultivate relationships with Posts by maintaining regular contact with key stakeholders in order to support them effectively.
Share best practice with RLDT Network and other Posts.
Support thematic accounts to assist them in achieving their business objectives, working with thematic leads and London Liaison Officers.
Design and Development Keep up to date on global Learning & Development trends, ideas and innovation.
Design and contribute to the development of RLDT training courses and L&D interventions.
Delivery Deliver RLDT and Civil Service Learning courses as well as other learning interventions to staff located in the designated region and across the RLDT network.
Incorporate both formal and informal developmental approaches in training delivery.
Deliver management, leadership, core diploma courses.
Key Selection Criteria:
Customer Focus - understanding customers' specific needs and being able to focus on providing the right level of learning and development support is of paramount importance.
Working with others - effective collaboration and contact with other members of the team across the region at all levels will be significant to the success of this role.
Communication - Accurate and concise communication skills are necessary, along with a very high standard of written and verbal English is essential.
The role requires regular communication with Posts and Senior Managers across the region.
Delivering Results - Taking responsibility and using initiative to achieve results will be extremely important in this dynamic and challenging role.
Knowledge, Skills and Qualifications Required:
At least two years of training experience, specifically in leadership development, management and/or coaching within a corporate or business setting.
Knowledge of learning development processes including needs assessment, learning objectives, class outlines, delivery methods, workshop material, etc.
Strong knowledge of communications practices, principles and procedures for both on-site and virtual presentations.
Outstanding verbal, presentation, written, and multi-tasking skills.
Strong interpersonal skills for interacting with all levels of employees and managers.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lead by example and foster mentoring relationships.
Excellent computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.
CIPD Qualifications or similar are preferred.
