Roles and responsibilities

Equipment Maintenance & Electrical Integration:
Maintain and repair special effects equipment, perform troubleshooting, and resolve technical issues. Conduct wiring, circuit management, and power distribution to ensure all equipment is safe and event-ready.

AV & DMX Connectivity:
Set up and configure special effects equipment with AV systems using DMX protocols. Test and calibrate equipment to ensure compatibility and flawless operation.

Event Preparation & Packing:
Prepare, pack, and label equipment following company standards. Work closely with logistics to ensure safe transport and timely setup.

Warehouse & Inventory Management:
Track usage, manage stock levels, and maintain organized inventory records. Conduct regular audits and reorder parts as necessary.

Research & Development (R&D):
Assist in testing new setups and exploring innovative technical solutions to enhance event experiences.

Health & Safety Compliance:
Adhere to health and safety regulations when handling equipment. Perform risk assessments and implement safety measures.

Qualifications and Skills

Technical Expertise:
Knowledge of special effects machinery, DMX connections, and integrating equipment with AV systems. Strong electrical skills, including wiring, power distribution, and circuit management.

Experience:
Minimum of 2 years working with special effects or AV equipment in events. Experience with electrical systems and troubleshooting technical issues.

Computer Literacy:
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, inventory management systems, and technical configuration software is essential.

Certifications:
Technical certification in special effects or AV systems. DEWA Electrical Competency Certificate (or equivalent) is highly desirable.

Soft Skills:
Strong communication and organizational skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle physically demanding tasks.

Troubleshooting Skills : Strong problem-solving abilities to diagnose and resolve technical issues efficiently.

Organizational Skills : Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively, especially during events.

Time Management : Strong time management skills to set up and dismantle equipment within tight timelines.

Safety Awareness : Understanding of safety practices related to handling AV equipment and electrical systems.

Adaptability : Flexibility to work in various environments and adapt to changing technical requirements.

Customer Service : Strong customer service skills to address client needs and provide support during events.

Basic IT Skills : Familiarity with computer systems and software used for AV setups, including editing software and streaming platforms.

Responsibilities
Setup and Installation : Set up and test audio and visual equipment before events, ensuring everything is functioning correctly.

Operation : Operate AV equipment during events, managing sound, lighting, and video to enhance the overall experience.

Troubleshooting : Diagnose and resolve technical issues that arise during events quickly and efficiently.

Maintenance : Perform regular maintenance and checks on AV equipment to ensure it is in good working condition.

Collaboration : Work closely with event planners, clients, and other technicians to coordinate AV requirements and logistics.
