Senior Civil Engineer

Roles and Responsibilities

• Must have worked in STAAD Pro / Foundation Suite software in Analysis & Design.
• Must have Design of Machine Foundations (Compressor and Pumps), Design and Development of Site Grading Works, Geotechnical Investigation Works, and Reinforced Concrete Building Design Works experience.
• Hands-on experience on model review in SP3D / E3D / PDS / PDMS platform.
• Experience in preparation of the Design calculation through XL spreadsheet.
• Achieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contract.
• Be responsible for assessing effectiveness of working practices and systems with a view to continuously improving systems, personal and team performance.
• Carry out work in accordance with Wood and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality Systems.
• Maintain the required technical quality of work.
• Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.
• Maintain planning and cost control on all scopes.
• Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Codes, Standards, Regulations and Procedures.
• Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required.
• Ensure, as far as practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.
• Keep up to date with technical developments, National and International standards and legislative requirements related to the discipline scope.
• Review, prepare, check and/or approve work output of discipline assigned personnel.
• Prepare estimates and schedules and assist in their review.
• Maintain good communication with the client.
• Maintain discipline filing system.
• Encourage and provide lateral learning within the project.

Qualifications

• Minimum B.Sc. Engineering in civil / structural.
• Minimum 15 years post-graduate experience.
• Minimum 15+ years' experience in the oil and gas industry.
• Minimum 5-8 years' experience in a similar role.

• Design Proficiency: Strong ability to design civil engineering projects using software tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D) and principles of structural, geotechnical, and environmental engineering.
• Project Management: Skills in planning, executing, and closing projects, including budget management, scheduling, and resource allocation.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations, building codes, and standards relevant to civil engineering.
• Technical Analysis: Ability to conduct feasibility studies and analyze data to support design decisions and project planning.
• Leadership and Mentoring: Experience leading and mentoring junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with clients, stakeholders, and team members.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve engineering challenges efficiently.
• Risk Management: Understanding of risk assessment processes and the ability to develop mitigation strategies for potential issues.
• Site Management: Experience overseeing construction activities and ensuring compliance with design specifications and safety standards.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, contractors, and environmental specialists.
