Notation: X ~ U ( a , b ). The mean is μ = a + b 2 and the standard deviation is σ = ( b − a ) 2 12 . The probability density function is f ( x ) = 1 b − a for a < x < b or a ≤ x ≤ b . The cumulative distribution is P ( X ≤ x ) = x − a b − a .
