I would like to close with the comments of one student, whose reflections captured the common perspective conveyed by students in the Mentoring for Educational Leadership course. The student said:
This particular mentoring experience has been absolutely invaluable to me. I have learned so much about the ways to improve my own leadership abilities, as well as how to effectively communicate by using trust and honesty in a mentor/protégémeeting situation. This experience gave me the opportunity to step outside of myself and reflect on several ways to improve my abilities and skills. I ultimately ascertained that we can all learn a great deal from those who have gone on before and‘know the ropes’if we will simply be willing to open our eyes.
