Begin writing your paper.
A formal outline is important to begin to develop the body of your medical Master’s Thesis paper. The formal outline is made up of a list of topics and sub-topics. This list presents your main ideas in a logical sequence. It also shows relationships and connection of the topics and sub-topics to the thesis statement. When you begin writing an essay, use the following formal outline as a guide:
I. INTRODUCTION:
- It should include your thesis statement.
II. ETIOLOGY:
- Causes
- Symptoms
- Affected patient population
- Frequency/incidence rates
- Mortality rates or chances of survival
- Risks Factors
- Effects of lack of medical intervention
III. PREVENTION:
- Lifestyle Changes
- Diet
- Physical activity
- Supplements
- Early diagnosis
- Risks factors
- Cost-effect of managed care
- Full function capacity or ability of the patient
- Improvement in the patient’s quality of life
IV. DIAGNOSIS:
- Screening tests
- Confirmatory tests
- New laboratory tests
- Current tests
- Accuracy&reliability of the lab tests
- Cost-effectiveness of the lab tests
V. TREATMENTS:
- Current treatments
- New treatments
- Clinical trials
- Efficacy of the therapy
- Therapeutic effect
- Risks Factors or side effects
- Chances of full recovery or survival
VI. MANAGEMENT:
- Patient medical care or rehabilitation
- Out-patient
- In-patient
- Hospice
- Prognosis
- Risks Factors
- Full or partial recovery
- Remission rates or chances of survival
- Cost of medical intervention
VII. CONCLUSION:
- Reconfirm or reword your thesis
- Summarize your main points
- Using your own opinion and words, explain why you have come to this particular conclusion
