Shift: 12 hours - varied
Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
Experience: Minimum of 2 years
License: Registered Nurse
Certifications: AWHONN Fetal Monitoring (basic, intermediate, advanced), NRP, BLS, S.T.A.B.L.E.
Must-Have: Skills in labor, delivery, postpartum, and nursery care.

Perform admitting assessments, review history, and develop plan of care.
Initiate fetal heart monitoring, perform vaginal exams, and interpret fetal heart tones.
Monitor labor progress and notify the physician for any progress or issues.
Assist mothers and labor coaches with breathing exercises and pain management.
Prepare the birthing room for delivery using strict sterile techniques.
Prepare mothers for elective or emergency Cesarean Section.
Assist with the induction of labor using medication as prescribed.
Properly document nursing care.
Assist with care procedures during labor including aiding anesthesia administration.
Perform immediate post-delivery care of mother and infant, including administering medications and promoting parent-infant bonding.
Provide postpartum care and patient education regarding childcare, breastfeeding, and self-care.
Administer medications and treatments per the physician's order.
Initiate and maintain IV and oxygen therapy for infants.
Care for post-surgical patients following post-anesthesia protocols.
Provide discharge teaching for all patients.
Ensure infection control protocols are followed.
Participate in in-services and staff meetings.
Assist with specialized resuscitation protocols for infants.
Float to other areas of the hospital as needed for duties such as CNA roles or Visual Observation Sitter.
Ensure compliance with departmental and hospital policies.
