Current, valid license as a Radiation Technologist in good standing Certifications:
Current, valid ARRT registration and BLS certification or must obtain within 60 days of hire and maintain credential throughout employment Must-Have:
- Ability to apply knowledge of anatomy and physiology, oncologic pathology, radiation biology, radiation oncology techniques, treatment planning procedures, and dosimetry.
• Excellent customer service skills including a friendly personality, tact, patience, empathy, and a professional attitude both in-person and on the telephone.
• Effective communication skills verbally and in writing with staff, managers, and the general public.
• Demonstrate effective listening skills.
• Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the ability to establish priorities effectively.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively without immediate supervision.
• Ability to learn new computer software programs.
• Ability to recognize and protect confidential information.
• Ethical and legal accountability for the position
- Administer the prescribed course of radiation therapy to patients.
• Calculate procedure details such as length and intensity of exposure to radiation, size and strength of dosage, and setting of recording equipment.
• Evaluate and assess the daily physiological and psychological responsiveness of patients to ensure quality care during radiation therapy.
• Participate in patient and community education regarding radiation therapy.
• Assist in the billing and coding process for radiation therapy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
