Requirements:
WV license
1-2 years' of critical care experience
Travel experience required
ICU experience
BLS, ACLS (AHA)
NIHSS
CRRT and IABP preferred
Other Details:
Floating Requirements:
Required to float to Stepdown. If not needed in Stepdown, would be required to float to Med-Surg/Telemetry or to care for Stepdown or ICU patients being boarded in the Emergency Department. Floating to Med surg is rare. If floated, they will take a full load of 5-6 patients. Travelers float in rotation, not always the first to float.Charting System:
MEDITECH - 6.1Ratios:
1 nurse to 2 patients, sometimes 3 patients in the ICU (could be an overflow or PCU downgrade for the 3rd patient)Common diagnoses/Types of patients:
Critically ill patients with complex needs and actual or potential life threatening conditions, invasive and non-invasive hemodynamic monitoring, Sepsis, Acute MI, Renal patients, Post vascular procedures; strokes, TIA, Seizures. Agepopulation served is pediatrics, adolescent, adult and geriatric. Impella- preferred- Would be nice to have someone experienced.
