The Role

As a Lead Software Developer, you will be responsible for helping to implement the vision of our software solutions, with a particular emphasis on Java technologies and networking components. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and operations, to ensure the scalability, performance, and reliability of our systems.

Location

This role is designated as a fully remote position within the United States.

The Main Responsibilities

Provide guidance and mentorship to development teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural standards.

Analyze and optimize system performance, ensuring efficient resource utilization and network performance.

Conduct code reviews and establish quality assurance processes to maintain high standards of code quality.

Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending tools and technologies that can enhance our software architecture.

Create and maintain architectural documentation, including design specifications, architectural diagrams, and technical standards.

What We Look For in a Candidate

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.

7+ years of experience in software development, with a strong focus on Java and network architecture or cloud deployments

Proficiency in Java, Redis, Lucene Indices, microservices architecture, RESTful APIs and Network Connectivity

Cloud Implementations - particularly Azure and AWS.

Experience with network protocols (TCP/IP, Traps, etc.) and distributed systems.

Proven experience leading technical teams and projects. Able to coach younger / less experienced developers as well as create a good working relationship with offshore developers

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation

"The starting salary for this role differs based on the employee's primary work location. Employees typically do not start at the top of the range, though compensation depends on each individual's qualifications.

$94,420 - $125,890 in these states: AR, ID, KY, LA, ME, MS, NE, SC, and SD

$99,390 - $132,510 in these states: AL, AZ, FL, GA, IA, IN, KS, MO, MT, ND, NM, OH, OK, PA, TN, UT, VT, WI, WV, and WY

$104,360 - $139,140 in these states: CO, HI, MI, MN, NC, NH, NV, OR, and RI

$109,330 - $145,770 in these states: AK, CA, CT, DC, DE, IL, MA, MD, NJ, NY, TX, VA, and WA

As with the pay range variety that's based on the region of a country, specific offers are determined by various factors such as experience, education, skills, certifications and other business needs."
