Job Summary:

The Employee Relations Specialist has a significant impact in delivering HR services and activities to the business. This role will help resolve some of the workplace sensitive employee relations issues and support investigations, leaves and accommodation processing, unemployment claims, verifications of employment, and general employee services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Initial point of contact for employees regarding HR-related programs, systems, policies, and procedures. Primary focus is on intaking Employee Relations (complaints, concerns, etc.) according to our standards and either seeing through investigations to completion or escalating to appropriate HRBP for that group.

Maintain a positive, empathetic, and professional attitude while responding to and resolving cases according to trainings, procedures, and Service Level Agreements (typically responding within 24 hours and no more than 72 hours).

Ensure HRIS inbox tasks related to employee Benefits, Status changes, and Leave requests (Bereavement, Military, Unpaid LOA, Paid Parental LOA, FMLA, Short Term disability etc.) are completed and supporting documentation attached.

Provide efficient and detailed communication to all employees through case responses, emails, and in-person discussions as needed, and by contributing to the development, maintenance, and update of HR processes, knowledge articles, and FAQs.

Help gather data regarding employee relations issues so that trends can be identified, and proactive responses can be administered that improve the workplace for employees

Conducts internal investigations into employee complaints, such as complaints regarding harassment, discrimination, bullying, and other similar issues

Provide support and execute Leaves (FMLA, Worker comp, Unpaid Medical) ADA, Unemployment Claims and Hearings

Achieve stated performance measures and adherence to Service Delivery standards.

Reinforce company policies and procedures to ensure a positive employee experience.

Initial point of contact for employee relations issues, thorough and objective investigations.

Conduct exit interviews and aid in the recovery of company assets.

Develop advanced knowledge of systems and processes to support daily work and overall continuous improvement.

Support/lead special projects as assigned (including compliance support, unemployment processing, policy updates, etcetera.)

Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of MS Office, HRIS platforms (Workday experience a plus), Case Management Systems, and ability to learn new technology systems as needed.

Must be able to exercise the appropriate level of judgement, discretion, and initiative related to HR tasks and functions

2 year of related Employee Relations experience including familiarity with State and Federal regulations

Education & Experience:

Bachelor's Degree in HR, Business or related field (or equivalent work experience).

Prefer 2+ years of related experience (e.g., HR-specific roles, administration, customer support).

Work Environment:

Employee works in an office setting (Corporate office located in Orem, UT) with potential of working a hybrid schedule (up to 2 days per week from home)
