Job Details The Registered Nurse is a practitioner who is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for an identified group of patients in an inpatient environment.
This individual demonstrates competency in delivery of care to a primarily adult population.
The Staff RN-Inpatient job description has incorporated essential functions which are adapted from the ANA Nursing:
Scope and Standards of Practice, 2nd Edition (2010).
Job Requirements Collects comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health and/or the situation.
Analyzes the assessment data to determine the diagnoses or the issues.
Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the patient or the situation.
Develops a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
Implements the identified plan.

Attains knowledge and competence that reflects current nursing practice.
Participates in ongoing educational activities related to appropriate knowledge bases and professional issues.

Identifies learning needs based on nursing knowledge, the various roles the nurse may assume, and the changing needs of the population.
Participates in formal or informal consultations to address issues in nursing practice as an application of education and a knowledge base.
