Job Summary

Responsible for marketing commercial real estate (CRE) products and services to existing customers and high potential prospects to generate revenue and deposit growth. Develops, maintains, and owns relationships with upper-tier commercial customers with commercial real estate credit SRE of $10MM or greater.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Markets commercial real estate (CRE) loan products to new and existing customers. Engages and consults with customers to identify, understand, and prioritize their financial needs.
Maintains and develops customer relationships, exploring opportunities to provide additional bank services and loan products. Evaluates customers and prospects to ensure compatibility with the bank's market strategy and credit policies.
Initiates and documents contacts to retain, develop and foster profitable business relationships.
Structures and negotiates complex CRE loan agreements. Analyzes and negotiates the terms of loans within established lending limits, or makes recommendations to senior leadership.
Leads the efforts of a cross-functional deal team including underwriters, analysts, and relationship associates, responsible for providing financial and statistical data to determine and support customer credit worthiness.
Services existing relationships and identifies products and service opportunities for other business units. Participates in development of new solutions to meet customer needs and to enhance profitability of credit and non-credit business for the bank.
Monitors and evaluates customer and prospect credit worthiness in accordance with established credit policies ensuring a high quality loan portfolio. Serves as a key consultant to senior management, providing evaluation and implementation of financing strategies or structures
Ensures all transactions and processes are in compliance with regulatory and company guidelines, policies and procedures. Ensures underwriting and credit standards are maintained.
Establishes and maintains relationships with community based organizations and serves the community through organizations, boards, professional memberships, and local groups. Represents Synovus in a positive and professional manner.
Provides guidance and counsel to junior team members as part of their ongoing growth and development. Participates in special projects as required.
Each team member is expected to be aware of risk within their functional area. This includes observing all policies, procedures, laws, regulations and risk limits specific to their role. Additionally, they should raise and report known or suspected violations to the appropriate Company authority in a timely fashion.
Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum Experience:

12 years of commercial real estate lending experience including experience working with mid-to-large size commercial customers and complex commercial real estate lending agreements.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

Knowledge of the CRE construction loan philosophy and process
Knowledge of universally accepted loan practices
Strong credit evaluation skills
Sales skills, and the ability to solicit interest in products and/or service
Negotiation skills and the ability to secure customer relationships
Strong customer service skills
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to effectively and clearly speak in public and group settings
Ability to gather information and provide appropriate solutions
Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products
