Primary Purpose
The Warrants Specialist is responsible for preparing and maintenance of validation reports, processing and recall of warrants and capias, notification of warrants executed, confirming the status of wanted individual, maintaining files for extradition, and other related duties.
Education and Qualification Requirements
Minimum: High school graduate
Type 25 WPM accurately
Valid Florida Driver's License
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
Basic knowledge of general office equipment
Must be NCIC/FCIC certified or become certified within 6 months
Must be D.A.V.I.D. Certified or become certified
Duties
Operate NCIC/FCIC computer
Run CJIS inquiries
Maintain validations reports
Conduct validation audits
Assist with FDLE/FBI audits
Attend FDLE, CJIS, and FCIC Region II meetings
Provide public assistance via the telephone
Process new warrants and capias
Assign new warrants to patrol service
Notify officials/agencies of warrants executed
Monitor and review FCIC/NCIC entries, cancellations, and validation reports
Cancel FCIC/NCIC entries
Recall warrants
Receive and send teletype communication
Request holds for subjects transported to DOC
Request extradition of wanted individuals
Attach NCIC/FCIC to original warrants, etc.
Attach NCIC/FCIC entries and cancellations
Prepare reports or affidavits
Compile data at the request of management
Assisting with other duties as needed
Occasionally walk to courthouse for daily pickup of documentation

Process/compile/disseminate record/public record information as directed by approving authority in accordance with lawful requirements
Provide assistance to citizens, visitors, employees, and other public and private entities in an effort to meet their needs and build positive community relationships/resolve complaints/address conflicts
Maintain continuity and operational efficiency by accurate and timely dissemination of information to Staff and co-workers
Adhere to leave, overtime and attendance policies/procedures (i.e. arrive promptly, regular attendance at work, notification to supervisor regarding absence from work due to illness or untimely incidents, etc.)
