Springfield is a small, full-service town on the Connecticut River in east-central Vermont - only 3 hours' drive from Boston!
• Our mission is to be a place where patients want to receive care and employees want to work.• This is a small, rural hospital where the General Surgeon will be primarily on solo coverage.
Searching for an experienced (at least 1 year of General Surgery work experience is required, at least 5 years of General Surgery work experience is preferred).• Busy ER:
18,000 visits/year• Trauma is rare.
No multi-trauma will come to Springfield.
General Surgeon can expect mostly bread and butter cases - gall bladder, hernia, a lot of upper and lower GI Endoscopy (about 100 per month) as there is no GI onsite.• Sees ages ~16+.
No peds as there is no pediatrician onsite.• Emergency Department is run by an MD.• 4 day work week, M-Th• Support staff:
Medical Assistant in clinic, RN in OR and GI-Endo, no APP support• Takes about 90 days to get a VT license for an MD; less time for DO - will consider either, but prefers a quick start• Credentialing takes about 30 days - can get started without a license• 1-hour response time to hospital when on call and 15-mins response to a page is required.
Must already live in or relocate within this radius.• Not accepting visa candidates• Not accepting brand new graduates - must have a minimum of 1+ year General Surgery employment experience (not including training)• Not accepting candidates who have lapsed BC and need to obtain againCompensation and Benefits:
