Job Opportunity Earn a competitive salary of $120,000 - $180,000 per year as a Traveling Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Rutland, Vermont.
About the Role This is an exciting opportunity to work with Wellspring Nurse Source, a nurse-owned and operated company that prioritizes clinician support and success.
Responsibilities Patient Assessment and Care:
Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments to identify patient needs and develop individualized care plans.
Administer medications, monitor responses, and document patient progress.
Crisis Intervention:
Respond to psychiatric emergencies, implementing de-escalation techniques and therapeutic interventions to ensure patient and staff safety.
Collaborate with the crisis response team when necessary.
Therapeutic Communication and Support:
Establish trusting relationships with patients to facilitate open communication and emotional support.
Facilitate group therapy sessions or educational workshops on mental health topics.
Collaboration and Coordination:
Work closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to ensure holistic care.
Serve as a patient advocate, ensuring their rights and needs are respected.
Safety and Compliance:
Maintain a safe environment by following protocols for high-risk patients.
Document patient care accurately and in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
Requirements Licensure: Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the practicing state.
Education: Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required.
Certifications:
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) Certification
Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing Certification (RN-BC) preferred.
